The Brazoria County Expressway along Texas 288 has surpassed projections for traffic, prompting talk of eventually extending the roadway to reach the sprawling Meridiana community in Iowa Colony. 'We're looking at extending it further south,' Brazoria County Judge Matt Sebesta said of the five-mile-long expressway, which runs in the median of the highway from the county line at Clear Creek south to County Road 58 in Manvel. 'It is already environmentally cleared to go down to where the Grand Parkway will come into Texas 288 (at Brazoria County Road 60 in Rosharon).
