About 40 years ago Margaret Truman, historical chronicler of her father Harry Truman and his presidential administration, developed and began to write what became her 'Capital Crimes' mystery series. Today, years after her death the series has been continued by notable mystery author Jon Land. 'Margaret Truman's Murder on the Metro' (Forge Books, 288 pgs., $27.99) is the 31st in the series and is a real page-turner. Land, who is best known for his Caitlin Strong, Texas Ranger series, several years ago also took over the 'Murder, She Wrote' series, bringing more of Jessica Fletcher's TV life into the written word.
