COLONIE — Plug Power has struck an agreement with New Fortress Energy to work on a 120-megawatt industrial-scale green hydrogen plant near Beaumont, Texas.Expected to be one of the largest of its kind in North America, the facility will enable the production of more than 50 tons per day of green hydrogen. Green hydrogen fuel is made by extracting hydrogen molecules from water through electrolysis, or the use of an electric current. To be green, the electricity to extract the water must come from renewable or clean sources like hydropower, nuclear, wind or solar energy.
